How it started
A treasure hunt for the whole family
Hunty started on a holiday in Italy – with a family ranging from 1 to 80 years old.
Our story
We were on a family trip to Italy and wanted to do something fun together. We like competitions and activities, and we wanted to be outdoors – not sitting apart, each with our own screen.
It had to work for everyone. We ranged from 1 to 80 years old, so it could not be too hard for the youngest or too tiring for the oldest – and everyone had to be able to play on the same team.
So we built a treasure hunt. The phone showed the way from stop to stop, and a question waited at every stop. The children ran ahead, the grandparents helped with the answers, and everyone helped find the treasure.
That became Hunty.
What Hunty is for
A hunt is something you do together – as a team, with a shared treasure at the end.
The phone shows the way, but it is the park, the city and nature you should be looking at.
From 1 to 80. The questions can be easy or hard, and everyone can join in.
Children learn along the way – about the place, fairy tales and history – while they run around and play.
Play, learning and moving
For us, play and learning go together. When children have to find the next stop, they run – and when they reach it, they are curious about the answer.
The phone is not the goal but a tool: it gets children outside and moving, and it gives them something to learn about the place where they are standing.
