We collect as little as possible. Here is what we store, why, and how to get it deleted.
Who is the data controller?
NL HoldCo (operating Hunty)
What do we store?
When you play a hunt
- The name you enter, so your teammates and the organiser can see who is playing.
- Your team’s answers and times, to work out the standings.
- Your team’s position during the hunt, if you allow location. It is used to unlock stops and show the team on the map, and we only keep the latest position per team.
- Your phone remembers which name you chose (in the browser’s local storage), so you don’t have to choose again.
When you create a hunt
- The hunt’s content: questions, answers, stops and texts.
- If you create an account: email, name and an encrypted password (we cannot read it). If you log in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.
- If you use AI for the questions, we send the topic – and any text you write about a person – to our AI provider to create the questions.
When a place offers a reward
- The place’s name, address, location, reward and a contact email. The email is not shown to players.
Why – and on what legal basis?
We use the information to make the hunt work and to give you an account. This is to provide the service you ask for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and based on our legitimate interest in running and securing the service (art. 6(1)(f)). We do not sell data or use advertising tracking.
Who helps us?
- Railway – hosting of the website and database.
- Anthropic – AI suggestions for questions, only when you ask for it.
- OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap – the map. Your browser loads map tiles directly from them.
- Google – fonts (Google Fonts) and Google login, if you choose it.
- Resend – login link emails, if you choose them.
- Photon (komoot) – when you search for an address to build a hunt, the search is sent there.
- Datafordeleren (Danish Agency for Climate Data) – when you choose a place on the map, we look up the plot in the Danish cadastre. We only send the point, not who you are.
How long do we keep it?
A hunt with its players, answers and positions is kept until the organiser deletes it, which they can do at any time under “Edit the hunt”. An account is kept until you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your information and object to its processing. Write to us. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
